Farmers award ceremony today

Kohima, March 10 (MExN):
The ATMA, Kohima is organizing a programme for farmers award ceremony- cum- website launching and release of news bulletin will take place on March 11 at Hotel Japfu, Kohima at 10:30 AM. T.V. Holo, director, SAMETI, ATMA, Nagaland will be the chief guest while G. Ikuto Zhimomi, District Agriculture Officer & PD (ATMA- Kohima) will chair the function. Dr. Deepak Chetri, joint director agriculture will release ATMA news bulletin.

World Glaucoma Day on March 12

Kohima, March 10 (MExN):
In commemoration of the World Glaucoma Day on March 12, a free eye screening for Glaucoma and Cataract will be organized at the eye OPD of Naga Hospital Kohima from 10:00 AM onwards. All interested patients particularly geriatric i.e elderly persons have been requested to avail the opportunity. Free medicines will be dispersed to patients requiring treatment, a release received here said adding that patients requiring surgery will be provided free surgery during the next few days or weeks.

YSUD general session on Mar 12

Dimapur, March 10 (MExN):
The Yimchungrü Students’ Union Dimapur (YSUD) will hold its general session 2011 on March 12 at 10:00 am sharp at its union treasurer’s residence situated at Half Nagarjan, opp. Petrol pump. YSUD president Y. Kihoto Kipzs has informed in a press release that all students from class 8 and above including Hindi and theological students, YUD officials, elders, leaders, gazette officers, government servants have been requested to attend the meeting positively. Any students failing to attend the meeting will be dealt with strict rules as per the union’s resolution.
 
DDGWTU informs
 
Dimapur, March 10 (MExN):
Dimapur District Garage Welfare Trade Union (DDGWTU) has informed the owners/members that the 1st annual picnic of the union which was scheduled on March 19 has been pre-poned to March 12 on account of Holi Festival. Therefore, the members are requested to positively attend the picnic without fail.  The members are also requested to reach the DDGWTU office by 7:00 AM and the departure for the picnic spot will be at 8:30 AM sharp. Furthermore, all workshops that falls within the jurisdiction of Dimapur are requested to remain closed on the day of 1st Annual Picnic of DDGWTU. This was informed by DDGWTU General Secretary Piketo Zhimo.
 
DTO informs on revenue collection

Dimapur, March 10 (MExN):
The District Transport Office (M.V) stated that the enforcement wing under the charge of District Transport Office Dimapur has collected Government revenue of Rs. 646250, by way of compounding fees during the month of November 2010 and February 2011. The compounding fees were collected during intermittent surprise checking conducted within Dimapur district from time to time. A press note issued by DTO officer stated that this information was necessitated in view of query and allegation received by the department from several public casting doubt.
