Dimapur, March 23 (MExN): A press note issued by United Tribal Society (UTS) informs all participants including school students, who participated in the 4th North East Poetry Festival 2011 from March 17 to19 at NEZCC Complex and have not received their certificates to collect their certificates from Noel Manuel, Coordinator, UTS, Circular Road Dimapur between March 25 to 28, 2011.
World TB Day today
Kohima, March 23 (MExN): A sensitization programme for teachers/lecturers as part of World TB Day will take place on March 24 at the Zonal Council Hall, Kohima from 10:00 am. The programme will be chaired by Dr. John Sweyievisa, joint director, Directorate of Health & Family Welfare. Dr. Apichetla, medical officer, State TB Cell will speak on the topic “On the move against Tuberculosis- transforming the fight towards elimination.” Dr. K.T. Lotha, State TB Officer, Nagaland will also speak on the occasion.
ASU emergency meet
Kohima, March 23 (MExN):The Angami Students’ Union will be holding emergency meeting on March 25 at its office premises at 11:00 pm. All the organizing committee members and finance committee members of the 24th Biennial General Conference have been requested to attend the meeting positively to discuss matter pertaining to the forthcoming conference.
Municipal Affairs Cell to act as Nodal Agency
Dimapur, March 23 (DIPR): The State Government has declared Municipal Affairs Cell under Urban Development Department, as the State Nodal Agency to implement the Interest Subsidy Scheme for Housing the Urban Poor (ISHUP) which will identify, motivate and organise beneficiaries under the ISHUP Scheme. The notification was issued by the Secretary Urban Development Municipal Administration Cell, Government of Nagaland, Norman Putsure.

Kohima, March 23 (MExN): All the concerned members of Kohima Tsungiki Khumshum have been informed that there will be an emergency general meeting on March 25 at Red Cross Society building at 3:00 pm. All the concerned members have been requested to attend the meeting without fail.

IRCSN informs
Dimapur, March 23 (MExN): The Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland (IRCSN) State Branch conducted awareness on Red Cross Movement and basic first aid at the St. Paul Institute of education, Phesema, on March 21, 2011.
A press note issued by Zakie Kire, IRCSN stated that Kholie Dolf, M.C member IRCSN and Lucy Merry, APO IRCSN were the resource persons. Fr. Sunny S.J, principal of the Institute opened the programme where he emphasized the need for everyone to know First Aid. Altogether, 50 trainees attended the programme where they actively participated in the practical session also.
Meanwhile, a separate press note also informed that the Managing Committee of IRCSN in its 4th quarterly meet held on March 7, 2011 re-elected Zakie Kire to the chair of general secretary, IRCSN state branch for one more term with the approval of His Excellency, the Governor of Nagaland & president IRCSN state branch.

Funds for Japan Tsunami victims
Dimapur, March 23 (MExN): Helpers’ Club, based at Midland Colony, Dimapur informs that the Club has decided to help the victims of Quake-Tsunami in Japan. Therefore, it has started to collect funds to be sent for the victims.
A press note issued by Helpers Club stated, “We have heard the natural disaster caused by the Quake-Tsunami in Japan where thousands of people have died and several thousand have been made homeless are facing immense hardships of the disaster. The world has come to help the Quake Tsunami victims of Japan.”
