Longleng, December 27 (MExN): An emergency meeting of the Longleng District COVID Vaccine Committee was held on December 22, to have a preliminary discussion about the COVID Vaccine which is anticipated to reach the country and state soon.
Chairperson of the committee and Longleng Deputy Commissioner M Shayung Phom welcomed all members and briefed the house about the purpose of the meeting, a DIPR report informed. The house was laid open for discussion to take various views of its preparation and implementation, it said.
District immunization Officer gave an overall idea of the stages of immunization and how the COVID vaccine should be carried in the district. He also highlighted the preparedness of the department in its logistics, transportation, storage, etc., and encouraged the members and line departments to work together to achieve the mission in the district.
The meeting also decided that the ongoing head count survey by the Health and family Welfare Department should be completed by the first week of January and that no person should be left behind. The committee emphasised that the enumerators should be well trained and all the data be cross checked before the final publication. The public were also advised to give full cooperation to the department and encouraged to give accurate data in order to help immunize the entire citizens of the district, the report stated.
All the departments were also advised to prepare mentally to participate in the immunization process and be ready with workforce to support the committee as and when required.
Meanwhile, the DIPR informed that in pursuance with the notification of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland, the Longleng District COVID Vaccine Committee has been constituted with Deputy Commissioner, Longleng as Chairperson and District Immunization Officer as Member Secretary. Other members include Chief Medical Officer; Additional Deputy Commissioner; District Sports Officer, District Education Officer, Child Development and Protection Officer i/c DPO ; District Public Relation Officer; District Land Record Officer; Assistant Labour Commissioner; Project Director; Presidents of PPC, Phomla Hoichem, Phom Students Conference; Executive Secretary, PBCA; Superintendent of Police, Longleng; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tamlu; Assistant Commandant VG; and EACs of Sakshi, Bura Namsang, Yongnyah, and Yachem.
