Longleng, February 1 (MExN): The May I Help You Organisation (MIHYO) Nagaland organised a ‘Youth Club Development Programme’ at Orangkong Village Council Hall on Monday. The programme was sponsored by the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) under Ministry of Home Affairs & Sports, Government of India.
According to a press release from the organization, President and Executive Director of MIHYO Nagaland K Lenangh Angh stated that Longleng district and the Eastern Nagas have not benefitted through schemes or projects launched by the Centre as, “by the time the schemes reached Longleng district the schemes is old about a year.” This, he said, was because of lack of awareness in the region.
As such, he expressed gratitude to the National Youth Volunteer Team Longleng for taking the initiative to highlight various schemes and projects being implemented by the Centre under NYKS. He also stated that NYV team is doing a great job for rural youths to come forward and take part in the process of nation building as well as providing opportunities for personality and skill development. He also urged rural youths not to miss the opportunity of central schemes being implemented under NYKS in the district and to work hard in order to reap good harvests.
He further stated that the MIHYO is looking forward to work together with National Youth Volunteers to create more awareness in various field and schemes being implemented by NYKS for rural youths. Together we will make Longleng district a better district, he added.
The programme was chaired by Chumei, National Youths Volunteer Team (NYV) while invocation prayer was pronounced by Pastor Pangpent, Orangkong Baptist Church. NYVs Ongba and Yongnyu highlighted about club management and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), vote of thanks was delivered by Pongi Chingkong, Team Leader, Longleng MIHYO Nagaland, and benediction by Talokumla, Asst. Secretary, MIHYO Nagaland, the release stated.
