Lotha Gazzetted Officers’ Association established

Dimapur, October 24 (MExN): The Lotha Gazzetted Officers’ Association was formally established on October 23 at Wokha LTC Hall by taking an oath on the preamble of the Association’s constitution that envisions endurance of common welfare and work in harmony with all other tribes with understanding for inclusive development of the State. 

R.F Lotha and Dr. Thungjamo Ezung were unanimously elected president and general secretary amidst hundreds of Lotha gazzetted officers converged from all over the state. Other office bearers, various district representatives were also elected and a host of executive members of the association were nominated for a two year term it being the tenure of office, informed a press note received here.

It sated that delivering the keynote address to the formation of the association, commissioner & secretary, education, Mhathung Kithan IAS said that the most important aspect of human existence is the well being of the society and hence utmost importance must be given to it. Stating this, he said that there can be no prestige, privilege or recognition without society. All these elements can be derived only from society or community he said and called upon the officers for rededicating their service to the people for a meaningful leadership and contended service life. He exhorted the gathering to give their best as responsible senior officers in the state and be truly obliged to the society saying that happiness cannot be achieved by selfishness or individual development. Satisfaction and contentment can be obtained only when the larger society we live in is well. Reminding the officers that our people are poor, Kithan urged them to concentrate their ideas and intelligence towards the uplift of the poor villagers in order to attain peace and harmony in the State.

Moreover, delivering his maiden presidential address of the newly formed Association, Addl. Drug Controller, R. F Lotha appealed the members for cooperation in strengthening the association in order to live up to the spirit of the association’s preamble in the service of the people with more vigor and zeal. He thanked the members for reposing faith and confidence in them and electing them to one of the most prestigious associations in the society. Kyon Hoho Chariman, Yansathung Jami speaking on the occasion expressed great happiness at the formation of this vital association in the service to the community and assured the hoho’s fullest support in the efforts of the association towards the community and the State. Jami exhorted the association to continue to be an opener to the people and urged them to give their fullest attention to the aspirations of the people. Pointing out that the current ownership issue for oil exploitation is the most crucial issue in the state; he appealed the association to give an all out support and guidance to the hoho in its endeavor for amicable resolution of the matter in the best interest of the people. He observed that there is a positive mental change among the people and called upon the gathering to nurture it.

Addl. DGP, Nagaland, Thechamo Lotha, IPS greeting the newly formed association impressed upon the house that the mode of speaking and communicating is extremely vital to any community. He said that negative language or communication creates negative impact on the community and hence urged the members present and the community to strive to speak positive language and communicate positively. Exhorting the officers as persons of substance, Thechamo called upon them for more initiatives and participation in the struggle of the people for speedy development of the state.

The well attended and impressive function chaired by Addl. Drug Controller, Nagaland, RF Lotha was serenaded by Thungchibemo Lotha, Advisor, Town Council, Wokha while vote of thanks was proposed by E. Kikon, Addl Director, Geology & Mining, Dimapur.
