Peren, April 29 (MExN): The Land Resource Department (LRD) in commemoration of 50 years of Nagaland statehood has initiated a project called SPEED (Special Program for Environment & Economic Growth). Under the project, it has adopted 4 villages in Peren district and Pelhang Village in Athibung Block is one. SPEED focuses on food security, livelihood and market linkage. It also plans to inform the villagers on environmental sanitation, health, livestock management and other social issues.
Keeping in line with the project, LRD converged with the District Program Management Unit, NRHM, and District Aids Program Control Unit, Peren and organized a health awareness-cum-health camp on April 29, coinciding with the Village Health Nutrition Day (VHND) at Pelhang Village.
A press release from district media officer, CMO office, Peren, Pezanguno Celine Secii informed that altogether, 69 patients were examined by Dr. Thangmang, Medical Officer, Athibung PHC along with two nurses and one Lab Technician. Basic health care services like ANC, immunization, medicines were provided and laboratory tests like Hb, HIV & Urine test were also done.
