DIMAPUR, JULY 2 (MExN): Lt. Col. Hotoi Aye, Dimapur Town Commander, Naga Army GPRN/NSCN has issued a rejoinder to accusations made by the NSCN Khaplang where the latter had alleged that “one Major Hotoi of Khehoi Camp presently residing in Chekiye village was behind the June 30 bomb hurling incident”. In his rejoinder Lt Col Hotoi Aye stated that he had “proudly served the Naga nation for eighteen years with commitment and honor” and that he has “never been involved in, or been accused of such a cowardly act at any point of time”.
“I am most surprised that the destructive elements, who cling on to expelled leader S.S Khaplang, have dragged my name in the bomb attack on Ambuja cement store at 3rd Mile on 30th June 2011”, stated the rejoinder while adding that he hid not know who Pankaj is and that he was “never been involved in any business with him whatsoever”. He however stated that he had “sufficient information”, on the incident and stated that he should “clarify to the Naga people” so that the perpetrators of the crime are brought to justice.
It was informed that on 27th and 28th June, one Akato Yeptho, demanded Rs. 10,00,000/- in the name of Khaplang group, with dire warning in the event of not paying up. On 29th June 2011, Akato locked Pankaj’s shop with a note attached giving his telephone no. 9402993566 which incidentally is also the same mobile number Akato had given out in the local media for Khaplang group, stated the rejoinder.
“On June 30th morning, the shopkeeper found the store locked with additional lock which prompted me to dispatch Naga army personnel to break the extra lock because the rogue elements were trying to create unwanted situation in Dimapur”, stated Lt Col Hotoi Aye. “When contacted over the telephone, Akato admitted that he locked the shop and charged me for interfering in their business. I told him that his action was unacceptable as he does not belong to any legitimate authority”.
As for the perpetrators of the crime, the rejoinder claimed that the order came from “Hokato Vusshe, stationed at Suruhuto camp and on his directive, Akato the so-called chaplee incharge for K group at Dimapur, deputed two men namely, 2nd Lt. Apuloto son of Yevuxu, hailing from Askhuto Town and L/Corporal Mulaho son of H Hoito of Sitimi Village”. “They came on a motorbike and threw a hand grenade into the shop which caused death and destruction on 30th June 2011.
The threatening SMS’s sent by Akato Yeptho to many businessmen are slowly emerging”, claimed the rejoinder.
Lt. Col. Hotoi Aye also clarified that he had gone to the spot, met the injured and also met police officers investigating the incident. “I offered my contact number for any clarification on the incident. I am a responsible officer serving the Naga Nation and causing death and destruction to innocent public is not on my mind. The investigating agencies will be having more details and before any destruction is caused, these criminals must be caught and befitting punishment be awarded”, stated the rejoinder.
