
Kohima, June 1 (MExN): In line with the observance of United Nations “World Environment Day on June 5, the Lhisemia Youth Organisation (LYO) in collaboration with Lhisemia Students’ Union (LSU) is organizing a mass social work within Lhisemia (Thinuo) jurisdiction on June 4.
Through this initiative, the LYO and LSU aim to generate awareness among the citizens for “our long-cherished dream of achieving a “Waste Free Zone” in our area which we envision to institute as a model in both rural & urban areas.”
All organisations, wards, colonies, Terhiibas, departments, schools, Tatamobile/ Taxi Parking which falls under its jurisdiction, have been requested to actively involve in this cleanliness drive “so as to achieve the objective of “Waste Free Zone” in our area.”
LYO president Mhasimhalie M. Yhome and LSU president Dziesekhrietuo Khruomo stated that all shops within Lhisemia jurisdiction will remain close from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM to facilitate the mass participation of the citizens in the social work.
Meanwhile, the LYO and LSU informed all the concerned to immediately remove the building materials/abandoned vehicles, which are obstructing the road or nullas.
