Dimapur, June 30 (MExN): Major General Pradeep C Nair has been appointed as the Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) on June 30.
A press release from PRO (Defence) Col C Konwer informed that is the 18th IGAR (North). The General Officer is an alumnus of Sainik School Satara, National Defence Academy, Indian Military Academy and got commissioned to 18 Sikh in December, 1985.
He has vast experience of the North East having served in Sikkim, Nagland, Manipur and Assam, it said.
The General Officer has also served in Assam Rifles earlier and has commanded his battalion at Assam, Faizabad and in Siachen, it added.
He also commanded a Brigade in Manipur, wherein he was awarded the Yudh Seva Medal, the release further informed.
In a solemn ceremony Major General Sanjay Gupta handed over the charge to Nair, and wished “him a professionally satisfying and successful tenure as IGAR (North),” it added.
