Dimapur, May 10 (MExN): The NSCN (Khango) on Wednesday condemned the fatal shooting of a 25-year-old female student allegedly by one of its member Thingiu Khiam in Dimapur on May 8. It further informed that it had constituted an investigating team to ascertain facts regarding the unfortunate incident.
“After perusal of the Team's investigation report, it is assured that the government will initiate befitting disciplinary action against the implicated official as per the ‘Yezhabo,’” informed a press release from the MIP, NSCN (Khango).
Expressing shock and condemning the incident as a ‘barbaric act,’it also offered deepest condolence and prayers of comfort and solace to the bereaved family.
As per the Dimapur Police, the student identified as Supou P, an MA final year student of Unity College, succumbed to her injuries at Faith Hospital, after she was shot by Thingiu, alleged to be her boyfriend, at Zeliangrong colony, Dobhinala, Dimapur.
The suspect is reportedly a Deputy Kilonser of NSCN (Khango) and has been arrested by the Dimapur Police along with his bodyguard Mongchon Khiam.
