Kiphire, August 8 (MExN): The United Sangtam Students' Conference (USSC) on August 7 paid a courtesy visit to the Meluri and met the administration, various village councils and Department of Road and Bridge who are tirelessly working for early restoration of the blockage road at 3 kms and 8 kms away from Meluri Sub-Division.
The USSC held a consultative meeting along with the Chief Engineer PWD R&B Nagaland, Administration of Meluri Sub-Division, Pochury Tribal Hoho, Pochury Students' Union, Meluri Village Council, GBs and Department Officials of Road and Bridge.
The Chief Engineer in his address assured to restore the road at the earliest. The other representatives in the meeting also assured to provide all possible help in maintaining the road.
The Meluri Village Council Chairman who also chaired the meeting expressed their willingness to avail all possible help in restoring the road. He also said that the department can cut any portion of land which is convenient for them in restoring the road and that there is no objection from their end.
The USSC President Sepikyu J. Sangtam has acknowledged the Chief Engineer PWD R&B Nagaland, for his commitment and concern for the people of Kiphire District. The USSC thanked the Administration, Pochury Tribal Hoho, Pochury Students' Union, Meluri Village Council, Meluri Youth Organization and general public for rendering their valuable service in restoring the road.
Meanwhile, USSC has requested all the residents of Kiphire to cooperate with the District Administration and NGOs while distributing the essential commodities. “The USSC is hopeful that the restoration work will be done at the earliest,” it added.
