The Ministry of Urban Development (CPHEEO), New Delhi, has already given the direction to the Chief Engineer PHED, Nagaland, Vide Order No. Q. ‘12023/1 /2004.CPHEEO, dated 14-01-05 to use Ductile Iron Pipes in matter of Gravity Water Supply to Tuensang Town, Nagaland, for which the allotment of fund was purposely made.
Earlier, the Government of Nagaland Vide Govt. Circular No.PLN/DC-CIRI03-04, dated 16th Sept. 2003, directed to use D.L Pipes to all the concerned Departments of Nagaland, by Addl. Chief Secretary & Development Commissioner, Nagaland.
Raising the objections for using G.I. Pipes in lieu of D.I. Pipes, the NGOs and Public Leaders of Tuensang Town submitted their representations to the Government of Nagaland dated 12-09-05.
Ignoring the direction of the Govt. of India, New Delhi, and a11 the pressure of the different organizations of the people, the PHED of Nagaland remains adamant to use GJ. Pipes only. Rather, the Officers of the concerned Department have started lobbying with the Leaders of certain public organizations through personal contacts and making them mum. This indicates their vested interest.
This is the only biggest scheme received from the centre by Tuensang Town so far? Which now wants to spoil by the PHED, Nagaland, with the cheap materials !
We don’t demand anything extra- or anything special, but we demand our share as it is, which was granted to us by the Centre
We the undersigned therefore, request your honor to take up the matter immediately for due necessary action.
From the date of the submission of this memorandum, if no reply is given within one months time, the respective organizations of Tuensang Town will take their own course of action, for which the Government win be held responsible.
