Training for youths of Wokha
Wokha, July 6 (MExN): The 28 Assam Rifles will organize one week special training on basic mechanical/vehicle repair and maintenance at Battalion Headquarter from July 9 to 13, 8:30 am to 12:00 pm as part of military-civic activities. The objective of the training is to provide an opportunity to the unemployed youths of Wokha district to equip themselves with basic skills of mechanical/vehicle knowledge which will enable them for self-employment prospects in future, stated a DIPR report.
Watsü Mungdang condemns rape of minor
Mokokchung, July 6 (MExN): Watsü Mungdang, the apex body of Ao women, has stated it is “vehemently appalled” over the rape of a 15-year-old girl on June 27 in Longleng Town. In a statement issued by President Maonginla and General Secretary Moanaro, the Watstü Mungdang demanded the law enforcing agencies to award stringent punishment to the accused according to the Indian Penal Code. It further expressed serious concern at the “increasing crimes against innocent and minor girl” and termed them as “the most condemnable act which is beyond tolerance in civilized human society.” The Mungdang urged the State government to take serious measures to curb these crimes in Nagaland.
