Dimapur, February 12 (MExN): The MGM College, Dimapur in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education under the Ministry of Education, Government of India organised a one-day workshop on the National Education Policy 2020 on February 11.
The workshop was held under the topic ‘Social Entrepreneurship for higher educational institutions’, with resource person Abhishek Ranjan, Project Coordinator Social Entrepreneurship, Swachta and Rural Engagement Cell (SES-REC), according to a press release from MGM College Media Cell.
The resource person elaborated on understanding the vision of SES-REC; how to promote social entrepreneurship while sharing different examples and case studies related to SES-REC.
As per the release, an institutional level business plan competition will be organized where students can share their business plans and inputs and three best business plans will be selected for participating at the regional level social entrepreneurship or business project presentation.
The workshop was conducted via Google meet platform with 35 participants, the release stated.
During the seminar Principal, Fr Dr PS Varghese highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship and need of skill education in the present context and said that students should leave the campus with highly skilled and value oriented citizens. He also informed the students that online classes for 2nd, 4th and 6th semesters would begin from February 15 and offline classes will start as per the guidelines of the Nagaland University.
The seminar ended with vote of thanks by Washimongla, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology, the release stated.
