MGM teachers contributing one-day salary since March for food kits

18th phase of St Thomas Society ‘Food for Security' Mission’ held 

Dimapur, November 1 (MExN): The 18th phase of 'Food for Security' Mission’ of  St Thomas Mission Society, MGM College, MGMHSS and MGOS Church was held on November 1 with the distribution of 1465 food kits to100 families.

The mission started in May during lockdown period to help the stranded families of Dimapur and has successfully completed 18 phases and is continuing in the seventh month, a press release from the society informed.

MGM teachers are contributing one-day salary from the month of March and this is the nucleus of the mission, it said. 

Many local businesses men and church members, well wishers sponsored money, food items for the different phases of this mission, it added.   With the support of the well wishers, the society is hoping to continue the mission till December, the release said. 

St. Thomas Mission Society's Secretary Fr  Dr PS Varghese expressed special thanks to all the sponsors, well wishers MGM staffs fraternity and to Manish Aggarwal, for his continuous help, it added.
