Mon, January 22 (MExN): The Mopong Hongkong Public Forum (MHPF) has reiterated its request to the State Government, to reinstate the post of EAC Mopong which is currently under SDO (Civil) Angjangyang, to Tobu ADC administrative headquarter.
In a letter addressed to the Nagaland Commissioner on Friday, the forum President, A Neangba Konyak and General Secretary P Longang Konyak said that the area public had already expressed resentment over the transfer of Mopong circle villages under Angjangyang SDO (C), and appealed to the government time and again to retain the Mopong EAC Hq and its circle villages under Tobu ADC administration centre, which was transferred during the retention of Longching EAC Hq in 2014.
It said that the area public had also submitted a memorandum for the ‘upgradation’ of Mopong EAC Hq into a SDO (Civil), with verification report from the Mon Deputy Commissioner in 1996 and 2004. “Yet when the Longching EAC Hq was relinquished, the Mopong EAC Hq circle villages were transferred under Angjangyang SDO (Civil) Hq administrative coverage without the knowledge of 55 Tobu abd 48 Moka ACs MLAs and without consulting the Mopong circle public,” the release stated.
It further requested the competent authority to fulfill the public demand in the interest of the Mopong Hongkong people and administrative convenience.
