Tuli, September 26 (MExN): A 15-day Micro Enterprise Development Program (MEDP) on food processing began at Aitlenden Community Hall Tuli, Mokokchung on September 26.
The training is sponsored by NABARD and organized by Community Educational Centre Society (CECS).
A press release received here stated that Samuel Therieh, Program Officer, Life Ministry Learning Centre Dimapur graced the inaugural programme in the presence of S Amarjit Mangang, DDM NABARD, Temsunungsang Aitlenden Ward Chairman and Subonenba Longkumer, Director CECS.
S Amarjit Mangang, DDM NABARD shared on the initiative NABARD has been taken up to promote sustainable and equitable agriculture and rural development. He also shared the importance of MEDP in enhancing and upgrading existing skills and new skills for the SHGs member and also stated that the training will help the SHGs in the aspects of overall management of micro enterprise.
Officially inaugurating the training, Samuel Therieh encouraged the SHG members to grab the training opportunity for experiencing and learning new skills which would later help them to generate sustainable income.
The programme was chaired by Zimik Tamreichan and altogether 30 SHGs members attended the meeting. After the inaugural, introduction to food processing and the usage of right preservation was conducted by Alemla Samuel, LMLC as a resource person.
