Longleng, April 24 (MExN): The May I Help You Organisation (MIHYO), in collaboration with Medways, organised a two-day free career counselling programme on April 23 and 24 at its office premises in Longleng.
The initiative was aimed at students of Classes 10 and 12 who have recently appeared for their examinations and are awaiting results, offering them guidance at a crucial stage of academic transition.
Experienced counsellors and resource persons provided insights into various career opportunities, streams of study and professional courses available after Class 10 and 12. The sessions focused on enabling students to make informed decisions based on their interests, abilities and future aspirations.
A key highlight of the programme was the launch of the MIHYO Mini Handbook by Lemty Pongnen, Marketing Director of ANTHE Group of Institutions, Bengaluru. The handbook is designed as a practical guide, offering essential information on career options, educational pathways and skill development.
Organisers underscored the importance of early career awareness, particularly in districts where access to professional counselling remains limited, and expressed hope that such initiatives would empower students to pursue their goals with confidence.
The programme began with an invocation prayer led by a pastor from PBCA, Longleng. The session was chaired by Er Wauphen Phom, while K Lenangh Angh, President and Executive Director of MIHYO, delivered the welcome address. A short speech was also delivered by Yangerjamir of Medways.
On the concluding day, the team visited Christian High School, Phom Lempong School and Buthung Higher Secondary School in Longleng as part of the outreach initiative.
MIHYO expressed gratitude to Medways, the resource persons and all participants for contributing to the success of the programme.
