Minister Kronu launches trekking route at Pfutsero

Nagaland Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Neiba Kronu on Saturday inaugurated the ‘Peak of Hope’ and trekking route at Pfutsero in Phek district. The trekking route stretches from Glory Peak to Chida Lake.

This trekking route will traverse a distance of around 30 km through hilly terrain, dense forest and several historical spots. With the launching of this trekking route, Kronu said that one can access adventure tourism related activities there. Kalos Society has been assigned to manage the trekking activity. 

Kronu called for efforts to make Pfutsero a permanent tourist destination. Tourism activities should not be one time affair but throughout the year, he said. The Minister was optimistic that with proper infrastructure put in place, coupled with a hygienic and good hospitality and the concerted effort of the public, Pfutsero can become one of the most popular tourist attractions spot in the State.

He called upon the public of Pfutsero area to gear up and work hand in hand to make a breakthrough in the tourism industry.

Meanwhile, Kronu said that a chapel will be constructed in the vicinity of the ‘Peak of Hope’ for prayer and catering purpose for the trekkers.

Earlier, the function was chaired by Dingulo Khutsoh while Rev Dr Neingupe Chiero pronounced the dedicatory prayer. Pfutsero Additional Deputy Commissioner, Japheth Woch and several other dignitaries were also present at the inaugural function.
