Dimapur, October 2 (MExN): The Minority Morcha BJP Nagaland, Dimapur District & Dimapur Mandal 1 Unit members on Sunday celebrated Mahatma Gandhi's birthday by cleaning a road stretch from Dhobinala to PWD junction including the Jesus Memorial Tower at Midland.
According to a press release, members were led by Minority Morcha President Deep Kumar in the cleanliness drive. It said that BJP, Nagaland is observing 'Seva Pakhwada' from September 17 to October 2 under the leadership and guidance of State BJP President Temjen Imna Along.
During this fortnight, various service programmes were taken up by district units throughout the State. Mokokchung District Unit organised a free medical checkup camp at Ungma Village, Kohima District, Dimapur Unit, Mon Unit, Tuensang Unit took part in blood donation, tree plantation, vaccination awareness, cleaning of water bodies and birthday celebration of late Deen Dayal Upadhyay during the Pakhwada, it said.
Morcha Members later paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri at a small function held today, the release stated.
Meanwhile, it said that Vikram Das, Convener, State Seva Pakhwada Committee of Minority Morcha thanked Dimapur Municipal Corporation and all the party members for their participation.
