In what can be termed as ‘distasteful and appalling,’ three flower pots have been stolen near General Falls Store, Mohonkhola Road in Kohima by miscreant(s).
The miscreant(s) have generously left the flowers on the ground and took away the pots, which have been donated by well-wishers towards The Green Line initiative in Kohima.
While some people have been generously contributing towards the beautification of the capital city, it is unbecoming of such people whose sole intention is to destroy anything that are good.
Confirming the report to The Morung Express, Kohima Municipal Council, Administrator, Kovi Meyase stated that the missing pots were detected early this morning. He however, said the stolen pots have been immediately replaced by donors.
Meyase also expressed his exasperation on the lack of civic sense among some citizens wherein some flowers pots have been already painted red with people freely spitting on the flowers.
He also informed that a meeting of the KMC, KCCI and AKMPW will be held on September 4 to take stock of the situation and work out a strategy on The Green Line.
The Green Line initiative has unconsciously turned into a big movement today, with two gentlemen who have anonymously placed flower pots on one of the streets of the capital city. The initiative has garnered enormous support with nearly 700 flowers pots contributed by donors till today, which is seen lined up almost the entire stretch of the city.
