The Beauty & Aesthetics Society of Nagaland (BASN) today announced that the beauty pageant of Miss Nagaland 2021 will take place on December 10 at RCEMPA, Jotsoma, near Kohima. Powered by Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) and Tourism department, the event is part of the Hornbill Festival of Nagaland.
BASN President, Mele Pucho told a press conference here today at Crescent International Hotel Kohima that Miss Nagaland 2021 contest is supposed to be virtual event keeping in mind the restrictions and also the pandemic. But, since everything is slowly getting into new normal, it had decided to go for live event. He said that all the preparations are underway and grooming class will start from December 1 till 9.
Miss Nagaland 2021 will pocket a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh including direct entry into the beauty pageant of Miss North East 2022. The winner will also become a brand ambassador of TaFMA for a year as well as State Icon for Election Commission. The 1st and 2nd runner- up will receive Rs 70,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively.
There will also be 7 sub titles and winners will be awarded cash prizes along with gift hampers.
Ticket in two categories of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 for the show, is available at Symphony Café, Kohima, opposite Oking Hospital.
BASN appeals
Meanwhile, Pucho told the media persons that out of 16 selected contestants from 11 districts of Nagaland, four from Eastern Nagaland had withdrawn their participation at the last minute (November 28) after Eastern Nagaland Women Organization (ENWO) disallowing them to participate.
In this, BASN made an appeal to ENWO to reconsider and allow them to participate in the contest.
