Missing woman handed over to Nagaland Police

One woman, who was reported missing from Mon town on March 30, has been handed over to the Nagaland Police. The Superintendent of Police, Mon, told The Morung Express that she was handed over to a Mon police team by the Sikkim Police in Gangtok on April 9. Three members of her family had also accompanied the police team to Gangtok. 

According to the SP, she was found working in a tour and travels company in Gangtok when she was taken into safety custody by the Sikkim Police. He added that a foundation for women in distress proved crucial in locating her. 

The SP said that after she is brought back to Mon, her health will be assessed and inquiry will be initiated. He maintained that she will not be treated as a criminal and the purpose of the inquiry will be to find out the motive, including the possibility of her being lured out.
