Prakash M Nadar, popularly known as the ‘Blood Man of India,’ donated blood at the Blood Centre, District Hospital Dimapur on February 14.

The international para-sports champion, world record achiever, and social activist undertook the donation as part of his lifelong commitment to saving lives.

Today’s effort marked Nadar’s 128th voluntary blood donation mission, reaching the 27th state of India in his nationwide humanitarian journey.

Speaking to the media fraternity, Nadar said his blood is now “running in 27 states.” He chose to donate blood in Nagaland on Valentine’s Day to spread the message that donating blood is the “highest form of love and service to mankind, a gift of life that can save multiple lives.”

Noting that there is no substitute for blood, he said, “If a person needs blood, he has to receive blood. A human should become a human by donating blood.”

He added that blood does not discriminate and only speaks the language of love, urging everyone to spread love by donating it.

For the past 33 years, Nadar has been on a mission dedicated to voluntary blood donation, organ donation awareness, and disability inclusion.

Despite being 90% physically disabled and walking with crutches, he has continued travelling across 28 states and nine Union Territories, becoming the first person to accomplish such a feat. He said his mission seeks to prove that disability is not a limitation to serving humanity.

Nadar further stated that his work is not driven by personal recognition but by the vision of building a strong culture of voluntary blood donation across India, while inspiring youth, society, and especially persons with disabilities (PwDs) to actively participate in social service.

Over the years, he has received 10 international medals, 135 national medals, and holds five world records for his humanitarian work. His decades-long journey continues to promote humanity, compassion, and social responsibility through action rather than words.

Alongside him, voluntary donor Tito Yepthomi, president of the Dimapur District Autorickshaw Drivers’ Union (DDADU), also donated blood. The noble initiative was held in association with Nagaland Free Blood Donor 24×7 (Give A Gift Of Life).
