MOKOKCHUNG, SEPTEMBER 1 (MExN): A Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) awareness programme was held at Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School on September 1 as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in Mokokchung district.
The programme aimed to sensitise students and young voters on the importance of electoral participation. EAC Neithozo Theunuo, Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO) for the 27 AC-Mokokchung Town Assembly Constituency, briefed the gathering on voting rights and responsible participation.
Theunuo highlighted the democratic principle of "one person, one vote" and urged eligible citizens to exercise their franchise responsibly. The supervisor for 27 A/C also explained the technical and administrative aspects of the SIR exercise and urged students, eligible voters and community members to cooperate with Booth Level Officers (BLOs). The cooperation, the supervisor said, would help ensure an error-free and updated electoral roll for the district.
