Model Higher Secondary School (MHSS) Mokokchung celebrated its Golden jubilee on December 11 at the school premises. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the Jubilee Planning committee and the School Education Board hosted the jubilee with a humble thanksgiving fellowship.
The jubilee programme was chaired by Tongpangkokla, Asst. Teacher, MHSS. Akok Walling, Retd. Principal Dimapur Government College was the speaker for the occasion who spoke on the theme ‘Greater Heights’. He started his speech with a very personal note where he took all the attendees of the day to memory lane by talking about the school’s history and thanked the school for teaching him and molding him into what he is now.
He talked about education and an educationist role in developing a child. He also talked about how the younger generation is obsessed with the evils of modern technology and that modern society has changed so much yet one thing remains constant that there is only 24 hours a day and that we should follow effective time management.
Short speeches were also given by Lanu Soyah, Deacon NCRC Mokokchung, Arkong Ward Yimden, Tinumayang,
Teacher Alumnus, and Dr B Arenla Jamir, Alumna. LanukabaImchen, the Former Chairman of the Education Board (MHSS), released the Jubilee Souvenir while Y Amongla Imchen, Chairperson Education Board, MHSS felicitated various individuals.
The Programme ended with a vote of thanks from Mayang Ao, Convenor, Jubilee Planning Committee and benediction by Temsunaro, MHSS Alumna.
