Kohima, April 29 (MExN): The NCC, RRC and NSS units of Modern College organised an extension outreach programme at Mengujuma village on Wednesday in collaboration with the Mengujuma Village Council and the Mengujuma Students’ Union.
A total of 27 volunteers and five faculty members participated in the programme.
During the visit, the team interacted with the eldest member of the village and extended support and assistance as a gesture of respect and community service.
The volunteers also visited the local primary school, where they engaged students through interactive activities. Stationery items were distributed to encourage their educational pursuits.
As part of the programme, a cleanliness drive was carried out in and around the village to promote awareness on hygiene and environmental responsibility among residents.
The organisers said the programme concluded successfully with active cooperation from the village council, students’ union and participants, and served as a meaningful initiative fostering service, teamwork and community engagement among the volunteers.
