Kohima, March 30 (MExN): Commemorating the celebration of 75 years of India’s Independence, the Department of Economics, Modern College Kohima (MCK) organised a prepared speech competition on the topic ‘role of youth in nation building’ on March 26.
A press release from the college stated that a short presentation on ‘Jawaharlal Nehru: Towards Independence’ was presented by S Anthony, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, MCK. Chongboi Singson BA 6th Semester was adjudged the winner, while Tokiho Achumi, BA 4th Semester and Takanungba Pongen, B Voc 6th Semester were the first and second runners-up respectively. The competition was judged by Dr Vitsou Yano, Principal, Dr Daili Kholia, HoD & Asst Prof Department of Education and Shahilo Khing, HoD & Asst Prof Department of Political Science. The event was sponsored by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan.
