Mokokchung DPDB centres on Tsurangkong & Japukong

Mokokchung, July 8 (DIPR): Deliberating on keeping up the pace of all round development in the two ranges of Tsurangkong and Japukong came up prominently in the monthly meeting of Mokokchung District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) on July 7, 2010.

Initiating the discussion, Parliamentary Secretary for Housing, Labour & Employment, Er. T. Sakusangba Aier drew the attention of the members of the DPDB on backwardness of the two ranges and sought their cooperation in the development process to bring the two ranges at par with other ranges in the district. Er. Saku Aier who dwelt at length on road connectivity, health sector and education scenario in the two ranges said current development being undertaken in the areas are far from satisfactory and sought special attention of the DPDB to further consolidate the development process.

Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Lithrongla G. Chishi who chaired the meeting sought clarification from concerned department about developmental activities in the two ranges and appealed to concerned department to lay special emphasis towards the two ranges.

The meeting later took up discussion on grant of grand-in-aid to a number of private schools, upgradation of schools and registration of NGOs in the district. After reviewing their academic performance, the meeting recommended to the government for grand-in-aid to Oriental School, Changtongya, Longnak Middle School, Edith Douglas Higher Secondary School, Moayimti and Tzurand Valley School, Watiyim were also forwarded to the government for upgradation.

Soyim Luyimer Welfare Society, Ungma, Tzula (Dikhu) Green Zone Project Management Committee, SKYLARK Welfare Society Tuli, Tribal Alliance of Nagaland for Environment and Nature and Traditional Healers Association who have sought for registration were also recommended to the government.

Deputy Commissioner reminded all developmental departments to submit their respective projects and schemes that are being implemented during 2009-10 at the earliest. She warned that she would be compelled to write to their Administrative Head to get the implementation report.
