Mokokchung DPDB meeting held

Mokokchung, November 8 (MExN): The Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) held its monthly meeting for October and November on November 8 at the ADC Planning Conference Hall, Mokokchung.

The meeting was chaired by Minister, PWD (Housing and Mechanical) and chairperson DPDB Mokokchung, Tongpang Ozukum.

On the proposal of youth hostel at Mokokchung, the Chairpersonn stated that he apprised the concerned Minister and asked the house to get a reply from the concerned department, a DIPR report stated.

Ozukum said that the land owner of Kendriya Vidyalaya School, Tuli was willing to give the land free of cost for the establishment of the school to continue and stated that the school should not be closed down.

The house also deliberated on the construction of pedestrian footbridge for main junction, Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) Dumping Site, Mokokchung Highway By-pass road and purchase of medical equipment for combating COVID-19 in the district. 

The house also accepted the translated documents of Village Councils Act Nagaland submitted by the select committee for approval.

After thorough deliberation, the house approved the registration of Soul Care Chami Village-reg society for care and support to orphan children.    

New board member, District Agricultural Officer (DAO) Mokokchung, B Imti Tzudir were introduced to the house.

Certificate and cash were awarded to the winners of the essay competition organized by Raj Bhavan on occasion of Gandhi Jayanti 2021 during the meeting. Alemmeren B Longkumer from Jubilee Memorial School, Mokokchung secured the first position while Senmangba Jamir of Jubilee Memorial School, Mokokchung came second, the DIPR report stated.
