Mokokchung: Mokokchung district administration has intensified frisking and checking of vehicles to put on halt the inflow of liquors and other illegal items into Mokokchung district to ensure conducive atmosphere for the forthcoming Lok Sabha electioneering in the district. The decision was taken at the security coordination meeting held in the office chamber of Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung on March 19, 2014.
It was decided that SP Mokokchung and Commandant, 31 Assam Rifle will coordinate for strict enforcement of ban on movement of liquors/cash through frisking of vehicles in all entry points. DEF personnel will be attached to Assam Rifles' check post for strict enforcement of ban on liquors. Commandant, 31 Assam Rifles informed the meeting that checking at all three locations, namely Dessoi, Tuli and AT Mokokchung would intensify to provide conducive atmosphere for successful conduct of the election process. DC Mokokchung, Murohu Chotso had earlier ordered all villages to deposit their licensed arms in their nearest police stations.
