Mokokchung, November 12 (MExN): Social Awareness & Action Plan to Neutralise Pneumonia Successfully (SAANS) Campaign was launched at Mokokchung CMO office by Dy CMO Dr Kibangkumba on November 12. SAANS campaign will be implemented till February 28, 2021.
During the event, Dr Kibangkumba said pneumonia is the childhood deadliest killing disease in the country and how it affects the children below 5 years of age. The aim of the campaign was to generate awareness in the community and also the target to bring down the mortality rate to 23/1000 live birth by 2025 which at present is 36/1000, and this can be done through sustainable planning and investment.
Dr Ayangla Saku, DPO (RCH&UIP) further briefed how to create awareness using certain platforms/media to make the public aware for identifying the early detection (sign and symptoms) for the protection, prevention and treatment among the children.
The participants present in the campaign were Dr Seiyiekhrietuo Rutsa, (Pediatrician) IMDH , IEC bureau, NHM staff and ASHA Coordinator.
