Mokokchung police on Sunday arrested one Bendangkokba (28) for assaulting a person who later succumbed to his injuries. According to police reports, the accused assaulted the deceased, identified as one Temjenmongba (28), a resident of Yimyu Ward, at around 6:30 pm at Mongsenbai Ward on Saturday, October 13. "He was taken to IMDH by his friends for medical aid. However, he succumbed to injuries at the hospital at around 10:30 pm," the police report said. The main accused has been arrested and a criminal case has been registered at Mokokchung Police Station-II under sections 302 (murder), 325 (grievous hurt) and 352 (assault) IPC, informed police sources.
