Mokokchung, June 8 (MExN): The Mokokchung police busted what was termed as an inter-district gang of vehicle thieves operating from Mokokchung and Wokha. It resulted in the arrest of 7 persons and recovery of 10 vehicles, including 2 motorcycles, in from Wokha and Mokokchung over the past two weeks.
The Mokokchung police informed that the arrests were made after one person was caught in the act “trying to flee… with a stolen motorcycle” at Aongza ward around midnight on May 25.
It led to the arrest of 4 others from Wokha and 2 from Mokokchung. They were identified as Nzubemo (29 years), Myanthung (27 years), Nchumbemo (27 years), Amos (41 years), Kumar Chetri (35 years), Phyobemo (34 years) and Imnalemba (28 years).
“In this connection several cases had been registered under Police Station-I and Police Station-II, Mokokchung and follow up investigation are going on,” stated press release from the Superintendent of Police, Mokokchung.
