Mokokchung: WQSC members trained on water quality testing

Mokokchung, October 19 (MExN): Women members of the Water Quality Surveillance Committee were trained on water quality testing with Field Testing Kits (FTK) and online uploading of water reports in WQMIS portal through mobile app on October 19 at PHED office, Mokokchung Town.

The training was organized by DWSM, PHED Mokokchung Division and sponsored by Sanitation & WSSO, PHED Nagaland, based on the Jal Jeevan Mission’s (JJM) main objective to create a community-based water quality monitoring and surveillance system at grass root level by the community itself to enhance awareness of safe drinking water.

Resource person, Alemjungla Longchar, Chemist, Mokokchung Division shared on the manual procedures and technical aspects of Field Testing Kit to the Women members present. Later, a hands-on training with the FTK was conducted.
The training was attended by 36 women members from Water Quality Surveillance Committee from 17 Villages. Field Testing Kits (FTKs) were distributed to all the participants.
