
Mon, November 22 (MExN): Along with the Government's vision to raise awareness about male sterilization and to promote the participation of men in family planning, the District Health Society, Mon launched ‘Vasectomy Fortnight’ on November 21.
The fortnight will be divided into two parts—mobilization phase from November 21 to 27 and service delivery phase from November 28 to December 4, according to a press release from the Media Officer for NHM, Mon Leeyan Chemshy.
The launch programme was conducted by District Programme Manager Moie Bonnie Konyak who appealed all the Block Programme Managers and Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) Co-ordinators to take active part in mobilising the people. Stating that vasectomy was essential in order to ensure proper health of the mother and child, she also highlighted on the advantages and benefits of the service, the release stated.
The meeting was attended by District Programme Manager, District Media Officer, Block Programme Managers and Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) Co-ordinators of all the blocks under Mon district, the press release stated.
