More condole Hollohon's demise

Dimapur, October 16 (MExN): A day after the demise of former Minister Kihoto Hollohon, more organizations and individuals offered condolence messages for the departed leader on Saturday.

AAUD: The Aghunato Areami Union Dimapur (AAUD) said that late Hollohon served the state with great diligence in different capacities and occupied several key ministerial portfolios under the government of Nagaland during his long political career. “He was a leader who stood for masses and reflected the aspiration of the people of Nagaland and his contributions to political and economic sphere of our community will be fondly remembered,” it added.

Stating that Nagaland has lost a precious son of the soil, the AAUD said his absence would leave a huge void. The union acknowledged his selfless contributions towards the people of Aghunato in particular and Nagas in general.

It also extended condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.

KTCN: The Kachari Tribal Council Nagaland (KTCN) offered deepest condolences to the family members of the deceased and stated that, “In his demise, the Kacharis of Nagaland have lost a genuine leader who had real concerns for the Kacharis.”

The Council recalled that during his tenure as the elected representative from Dimapur-III AC, late Hollohon did his best to uplift the Kacharis and that even the Government High School at Dhansiripar was recognised by the government through his initiative. The Kacharis of Nagaland will forever be indebted to the departed soul, the KTCN stated and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.

KYKD: The Kulolau Yeputhomi Kuposhukulu Dimapur (KYKD) remembered late Hollohon as a leader who stood for the masses and said that his leadership qualities shall remain an inspiration and his footprints will always be remembered. 

The Naga society as a whole has lost a dynamic leader and a true son of the soil, it stated. The vacuum created due to his demise will be difficult to fill. However, his legacy will continue to live on through the many lives he touched, the KYKD added.

It conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the late leader to rest in peace.

N Kitovi: On behalf of all the co-conveners and on his own behalf, the Convenor of the WC, NNPGs N Kitovi conveyed sincere condolences to the family of late Kihoto Hollohon, former Brigadier Naga Army and former Minister of the NLA.

“He was a youthful military officer in the Naga Army in the early years of Indo-Naga conflict, a patriot and hero in his own right. Upon their sacrifices, we have our history and identity today,” Kitovi acknowledged.

“In his demise, I am convinced that Nagas have lost the most generous and charitable Naga political leader,” he said while adding that he would always cherish the precious hours and fatherly advices late Hollohon reserved for him.

Praying for strength to the bereaved family, the WC, NNPGs Convenor also prayed for God to grant eternal rest to the departed leader.

Thenucho Tunyi: “I had known Hollohon since my student days and had the privilege of working with him on various occasions including our time in governance. I had found him to be a fearless person with a strong personality who had a sincere love and concern for the Naga people. He began his political career as a national worker and later on joined active state politics. He was a successful politician who sincerely worked towards the betterment of the society,” Former Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) Thenucho Tunyi said.

Remembering late Hollohon as a generous man and a believer in Christ who also contributed immensely to the growth of the Churches and its mission, Tunyi said that, “In his passing away, we have lost a great leader and a friend of the needy.”

He prayed for God’s peace and comfort to the bereaved family and for the departed soul to rest in peace.

WSBAK: The Western Sümi Baptist Akukuhou Küqhakulu (WSBAK) expressed deep sadness and pain at the demise of Kihoto Hollohon, who passed away on October 15.

“Late Kihoto Hollohon was a prominent leader among the Nagas. He has selflessly served the Naga society in general and Sümis in particular,” the WSBAK stated in a condolence message issued by its Executive Secretary Rev Dr Phughoto Sema.

Apart from being a tall leader among the Nagas and Sümis, he was an impeccable man with a big heart and most importantly, he was a God fearing person, the WSBAK stated. 

“The Sümis and the Nagas as a whole have lost a great leader, a mentor and a father figure,” it stated, adding that the vacuum created by his demise would be difficult to fill. 

The WSBAK further conveyed its condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
