More condolences for Filip Sumi

Dimapur, November 13 (MExN): A day after the demise of senior journalist and Dimapur Press Club (DPC) President K Filip Sumi, more condolences poured in on Saturday.

CNCCI: The Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNCCI) said that it is pained to learn of Filip’s demise.

Late Filip was an enthusiastic, committed and a seasoned journalist who dedicatedly worked for the fraternity and for the upliftment of our Naga society, the CNCCI stated in its condolence message.

“The CNCCI has associated with him on many occasions and his contribution towards the CNCCI will always be cherished and revered. The vacuum created by his demise will be hard to fill,” it added.

The Confederation conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed that the God would grant him eternal rest.

NSCN (R): “The unfathomable grief of the NSCN/GPRN (R) is immeasurable with the sudden and sad demise of the President of DPC (Dimapur Press Club), K Filip Sumi, who was one of Naga's potential and promising figures,” the NSCN (R) said on Saturday.

The press fraternity in particular and the Nagas in general has lost a very fine gentleman, and a formidable front runner who contributed his selfless sacrifices and gave his all, to the society he loves and belongs to, it said.

Taking solace in the legacy he left behind for his wife, children, families and friends to cherish, the NSCN (R) and prayed for God to grant rest to the departed soul.

Tovihoto: MLA and Advisor, Power government of Nagaland, H Tovihoto Ayemi also conveyed condolences on Saturday for late Filip who had been associated with him as an official press secretary. “I have known him to be a soft spoken individual with good humane quality and for which he was loved by one and all. He was always sincere towards the duties assigned to him. His contribution in the field of journalism was always appreciated. He was a distinct and articulate writer. It is a matter of great loss not only to his family members and relatives but to all those, including me and my family who had been associated with him,” the MLA wrote.

While mourning his demise, the MLA said that late Filip’s sincere dedication towards his work would always remain in our hearts. Sharing grief with the bereaved family, the MLA prayed for the departed to rest in peace.
