NEEPCO Ltd conducts state-level painting competition 2021 on energy conservation

The North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) Ltd, Doyang Hydro Power Station today conducted a state level painting competition 2021 on “Energy Conservation” under the aegis of Ministry of Power, Government of India through Bureau of Energy Efficiency.
Among the many, the participants through their works, conveyed” More Saving More Power,” “Energy is life,” Conserve energy to preserve future,” etc.
This event was part of National Campaign on Energy Conservation 2021 of Ministry of Power, Government of India. And also part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Nagaland State Designated Agency, Government of Nagaland also supported this event.
The state level competition took place at East Gate Hotel, Kohima. Nagaland’s school education director Wonthungo Tsopoe graced the prize distribution ceremony and gave away prize to the winners.
Tsopoe stressed on the necessity to conserve energy by everyone.
He said education is not only confined to the four walls of the classroom but it should be for all round development of a child.
For quality education, one has to learn out of the box and participate in these kinds of activities alongside classroom teaching, he said.
The first, second and third position in both Group A and B category carried a cash prize of Rs. 50,000, Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 20,000 respectively.
The consolation winners in both categories awarded with Rs. 7,500 each.
NEEPCO Ltd official informed that the prize winning works of top three in both categories will be sent to National Level competition.
Judges for the state level competition included: Taliyanger Oziikiim, Neivotuo Keyho, Andy Sekhose, Dr. Chumbeni Kikon and Kekhriezhazo Miachieo.
Timothy Thong, deputy director, School Education Nagaland acted as observer.
Kalyan Barman, General Manager (E/M) NEEPCO Ltd and Laishram Yaimaba Khuman, Deputy Manager (HR), NEEPCO Ltd also present at the event.
