CAMA 10th annual general session held

The Chokri Area Mothers’ Association (CAMA) held its 10th annual general session on January 22 at Thipuzu village under Phek district.
Speaking on the occasion, guest speaker Vosuhlü Tetseo expounded on the values and dedication it takes to make a good mother. Stating that motherhood “requires hard work and decision,” she advised the gathering to focus on their spouse’s strengths rather than weakness and always be encouraging rather than disparaging.
She also asked fellow mothers to know the difference between “wants and needs” while buying goods and advised them to frame proper budgeting in the family. While encouraging the mothers to get into the habit of saving money and spending less, she also advised them to maintain at least one bank account for the family.
Also touching on health care scenario, Tetseo recommended that the women VDBs initiate medical camps for women once in a year as master health check-ups are necessary to stay healthy.
Later, she released the CAMA constitution.
Thipuzu Village Council chairman Chorhitso Khamo called upon the members of CAMA to focus on overall development of the society.
He also asked them to play an important role towards a better, brighter and vibrant future.
CAMA president Methathilü Theluo delivered presidential address and CAMA ex-president Shudükholü Theluo also spoke at the session.
Vekusalu from Nagaland State Social Welfare Board (NSSWB) also highlighted the various welfare schemes and activities under the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India.
Information Education and Communication (IEC) materials were also made available to the gathering.
The session was marked by indigenous song competition and exhibition–cum- sale of agricultural produces.
CAMA has 12 affiliated units/villages including Thenyizu, Chetheba, Chesezu, Chesezu Nasa, K. Basa, K. Bawe, Phuyoba, Thipuzu, Rihuba, Phusachodu, Kikruma and North Kikruma.
