Wokha, August 2 (MExN): District sensitization workshop on Measles Rubella vaccination campaign for District Education and ICDS department was held on July 31 at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner Office.
DIPR stated in a report that the Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Robin Lotha delivered the welcome address. Wokha DC, Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon (IAS) encouraged consultative meetings with DEOs, & CDPOs, as it was necessary and as such meticulous planning with the line departments are needed for the success of the campaign.
Dr. Archana Gayen SMO, WHO resource person for the workshop spoke on the objective of the workshop, MR country update, elimination strategies, epidemiology and rationale for MR Campaign, Basic Strategic & Operational Plans, micro planning, roles and responsibilities of various departments for MRVC.
Planning for schools/outreach based MR campaign, by Dr. Khelito Zhimomi DPO (RCH/UIP) spoke on planning recording, reporting and monitoring tools and the roll out plan with timelines and other guidelines, AEFI treatment/ management during the MR campaign and organizing vaccination session sites including injection safety and waste management in the campaign and emphasized on the importance on FAQs including Routine Immunization Advocacy Communication and Social Mobilization.
