Dimapur, November 12 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) Ato Kilonser Th Muivah has expressed his sadness over the sudden demise of its Deputy Kilonser Forest & Environment, Akhyuba Sangtam, who passed away on November 12.
Sangtam joined National Service on July 18, 2012 and had been serving the Naga Nation in his various capacities all through his life, Muivah said in a condolence note.
His sacrifices and contribution for the righteous cause of the Nagas will be remembered always and it is indeed a great loss for the Naga Nation, he said.
“At this moment of his departure, I convey my condolence to the bereaved family and relatives. May our Almighty God give solace and peace to the dear and near ones of the departed soul,” he added.
Late Dangkhathu remembered
Meanwhile, in a separate release, the NSCN (IM) conveyed its sadness over the untimely demise of Corporal K Chingi Dangkhathu of the General Headquarters (GHq), Naga Army from Yongphang village under Phom Region on November 11.
Late Dangkhathu enrolled in the Naga national service on the October 5, 2015 and had been serving the Naga nation with unwavering patriotism until his demise, stated the MIP, NSCN/GPRN release.
The void created by his demise is deeply felt and would be difficult to fill in but his selfless contribution to the Naga national cause, his name shall be recorded in the pages of the Naga history, it said.
The NSCN (IM) also extended its deep condolences to the bereaved family members and friends of Late Dangkhathu and prayed the Almighty God to grant his soul eternal peace.
It further informed that the office of the Adjutant General, Naga Army has posthumously bestowed late Dangkhathu, the rank of Sergeant on Novermber 12 in recognition of his service.
