Dimapur Plaza foot overbridge gets a facelift

A group of youngsters from different communities in Dimapur have come together with a theme, ‘My Hometown, My Responsibility’ and has voluntarily taken the initiative to give a facelift to the foot overbridge at Plaza point junction Dimapur.
The youngsters with the help of some sponsors have cleaned and washed the footbridge besides paintings the rails and stairs. A major attraction of the facelift is the paintings on stairs with Naga motifs and wildlife arts.
One of the volunteers who took part in the facelift project said the group is conglomeration of likeminded people who wanted to change the society positively. He thanked the sponsors for making the project a success.
The Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan who inspected the site in the presence of DMC Administrator, Albert Ezung lauded the youngsters for taking the initiative to beautify the city adding, “it is a responsibility that comes from within.”
“This is our hometown and everybody should take similar responsibility in their own ways and also create more awareness on social responsibility,” he added. Rajesh expressed the hope that with people’s participation, the public can witness a better city.
