NAAME with Eco-Tourism Guides prepare for Hornbill Festival

NAAME with Eco-Tourism Guides, organize cleanliness drive and forest fire awareness campaign as part of Hornbill Festival 2021 preparation on November 17.

Kohima, November 17 (MExN): The Nagaland Association for Adventure Mountaineering and Education (NAAME) with Eco-Tourism Guides, organize cleanliness drive and forest fire awareness campaign as part of Hornbill Festival 2021 preparation on November 17. The programme was participated by 50 trained tourist guides.

The programme was conceptualized to encourage and empower Dzükou Tourist GuidesinEco- friendly trekking initiatives with a theme “Green Initiative, Go Green”, NAAME, President, Ruokuovikho Chale and Secretary, Pukil Kintso stated in a press release. 

The programme was flagged by Supongnukshi IFS, Chief Conservator of Forest, Department of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Nagaland at Rüno Campsite, Kigwema in the presence of Shri. Balie Kere, Chairman, Kigwema Village Council and colleagues.

During a brief message to the Eco-Tourist Guide to Dzükou participants, special guest reminded guides that people from all over the world is coming to see the beauty of Dzükou and if we don’t keep it protected, then the credibility of our commitment towards preserving such an important place is lost. 

He exhorts, responsibility as a tourist guide comes not only with leading the people who are coming to see our place but it also comes with responsibility of educating people on how to care for our resources and how to carefor the nature that we are so blessed with, stating, we don’t find much of natural resources and environment like thisin the world.

He also expressed his satisfaction and proudness about trained tourist guides, while affirming, state has been able to produce such responsible citizen, such responsible youth who can take the state forwards and appeal to the youths present to be the leaders in preserving our environment.

The programme was chaired by Khreketoulie Kintso MOI, Invocation Prayer Pronounce by Neitho Tacü, and key address delivered by Ruokuovikho Chale.
