Naga Council meets CM; committee to look into ‘Naga commission’

Dimapur, August 20 (MExN): Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Finance Commissioner Toshi Aier have reportedly told the Naga Council Dimapur that the government will set up a committee to look into a levy tax being claimed by the NGO. Naga Council, in a press note informed that a delegation had met the Chief Minister of Nagaland on August 19 in the latter’s residential office at Kohima. 

“The Chief Minister Shri Neiphiu Rio accompanied by the Finance Commissioner, Shri Toshi Aier, told the Naga Council team that the Government will set up a Committee and look into the Naga Commission and thereby to place before the Cabinet for decision for which Government requested sufficient time,” the Naga Council informed in a note today from its general secretary.  
Naga Council said it has agreed to give sufficient time and wait for the government’s decision. “As a gesture of goodwill Naga Council temporarily suspend the deadline arrived at on 18th August, 2010 till further information,” it added.
