Naga Hoho reacts to Governor’s R-Day speech

Guwahati, February 6 (MExN): The Naga Hoho held a coordination meeting with the United Naga Council, Arunachal Naga Students’ Federation and Zeliangrong and Rengma Council, Assam on January 28 in Guwahati.

The coordination meeting took strong exception to the recent Republic Day speech of R N Ravi, Governor of Nagaland and the Centre’s Interlocutor to the Indo-Naga Peace talks, a press release from the Naga Hoho informed on February 6.

“The speech undermines the political struggle of the Naga people and questions the integrity of the interlocutor. We understand that the speech is not independent from the larger political scheme of the Government of India (GoI) and we assert that this must stop,” it stated.

The Government of India’s delaying tactics will only backtrack what has been achieved this far, the Hoho stated and said that the Government of India must take a clear stand on the long pending Indo Naga political issue.
