Naga Hoho speaks out on border issue

Dimapur, Aug 9 (MExN): The Naga Hoho views with seriousness the claim of the All Assam Students’ Union that Tsurang valley in Mokokchung district belongs to Assam state. “It is an established and known fact that the areas in question have been in the exclusive possession and ownership of the Nagas,” Naga Hoho speaker HK Zhimomi reminded. The Hoho stated that Assam and Nagaland have been living as good neighbors and each side has not had its possession and ownership disturbed by the other.  “This situation of friendship, amity and coexistence should not be disturbed by any persons, groups, organizations from either side” the Hoho advised. The Naga Hoho has also appealed to the Assam government and the AASU to maintain a spirit of coexistence and not indulge in “inflammatory behavior.” An appeal to respect others’ rights was made and also that restraint be exercised from indulging in questionable behavior.
