Kohima | August 15 : Joining the rising trend of networking websites is Nagabit.com, an upcoming website founded and developed by Talisunep Longkumer, a self confessed ‘tech junkie’. With his education in Electronics Engineering he is actively involved in Web development and Design specializing in SEM (Search Engine Marketing) and SMO (Social Media Optimization). Tali Longkumer has been involved in many projects since his student days. His resume includes releasing the first e-magazine (electronic magazine) and the official website for NSUM (Naga Students Union Mumbai).
Talking to the Morung Express exclusively, Tali Longkumer stated that he always wanted to create a common platform for Naga’s online, something more dynamic and  sustainable, where people can be empowered and be an active part of the platform by being able to contribute additional information for the benefit of one who is posting information.  The community hence benefits from the information being posted. Its centered around the term Web 2.0 where information can be easily exchanged between individuals via online platforms dynamically and on a larger scale also. The main areas that Nagabit seeks to promote are Music, Business, Photography and Fashion. Launched on the 1st August 2010, Tali says that the response has been ‘steady and interesting so far’. The happening website is presently self funded and a  handful of people are involved in the venture along with one permanent partner who is also from Nagaland. The website now boasts of an impressive number of members who contribute stories and interesting articles.
A first achievement for Nagabit is signing up the upcoming singer/classical guitarist Imli Imchen. Tali Longkumer informs that recording for the first album has been finished and also that Nagabit is currently working on launching ‘him’ in the next few months. Reportedly the response has been great and Nagabit has lined up a number of shows in Mumbai for him.
With the successful campaigning of Imli Imchen’s debut album, the Nagabit is now
planning its next phase of applications for the website and other product launches. Says Tali, “We’re looking at August to launch some new applications on our website as well as release Imli Imchens new Guitar Instrumental Album”. Nagabit plans to launch Imchen globally via the internet and also locally in India. The album will be launched officially in Nagaland, hopefully in the month of September this year.
Voicing his opinion on the mushrooming Naga websites Tali opines that Nagabit is still evolving as a web platform and that they are planning many ways to leverage the website so as to deliver interesting content in the coming months. The Nagabit website unlike other social networking platforms is not centered around the user but around the community for the greater benefit of the community which in this case is Nagaland as a whole. Welcoming new users, Tali Longkumer invites anyone from Nagaland to register and be a part of the growing Nagabit community.
