Naga Vigil cautions NSCN

DIMAPUR, MAY 16 (MExN): The Naga Vigil, a support group based at London, today gave a statement relating to the recent visit of NSCN (IM) leaders Rh Raising and VS Atem “to some fringe parliamentary meeting in London before fleeing to Holland.”

Naga Vigil’s David P Ward cautioned the two senior NSCN leaders, “Be advised that the United Kingdom does not welcome war criminals.” He said their names have been passed to the Security Services and Foreign Office and that a second attempt of obtaining Visas may not be so successful.

Citing instances of alleged atrocities committed by NSCN (IM) members, Ward said, “You may carry out your Shillong Accord Number-2 and try to implement your 28 page programme to liquidate your Naga brethen … in league with the Government of India and you shall fail miserably.” He said the Naga Vigil will now chase the NSCN-IM out of Europe and challenge “your foolish foreign sympathizers as we like.”

Naga Vigil further tendered its profound grief and condolences to the immediate family of Yongkong, namely his son Alem and his mother Relina as well as grandchildren in Shillong. “It goes without saying that we will carry out our duty in line with Mr. Yongkong’s stance and that the national documents have been removed and will be housed in trust for the Federal Government of Nagaland under the present Kedahge Brigadier S. Singnya outside the U.K. along with the National Archives removed for safe keeping in 1994.”

It was however learnt that NSCN leader Rh Raising was accompanied by Kilo nser Gaikhangam to London, and not with VS Atem as stated in the Naga Vigil statement.
