During the programme, the importance of World Water Day, the aims and objectives of Jal Jeevan Mission, basic ways of harvesting and conserving water, etc, were highlighted by resource persons.

The District Water Sanitation Mission, PHED, Zunheboto Division observed World Water Day on March 22, with the theme ‘Valuing Water.’  Deputy Commissioner of Zunheboto Peter Lichamo graced the programme organised under the aegis of WSSO, PHED, Kohima, following which free water was distributed to the citizens of Zunheboto town to commemorate the event.

The ‘Mother Heart Skool’ a subset of undertaking by the Frontline Ministries, was conducted in Longchem Baptist Church, Mokokchung District from March 18 to 21. Altogether 31 mothers graduated with a renewed commitment to stay true to biblical motherhood. The teachers Rev Dr Toshi Langu, Dr Bendangla Changkiri and Limala Pongen taught on different aspects of motherhood.

Poshan Pakhwada Food Show Mela was organized by the office of CDPO Dimapur (Rural) on March 23. Locally available fruits and vegetables were displayed along with its benefits at a specially made stall set up at Chekiye Tuesday market. Awareness banners on nutrition, anaemia, health & personal hygiene was also displayed and signature campaign pledge was signed by hundreds visiting the stall. This Poshan activity is to promote good nutrition through awareness on locally available nutritious foods and local food recipes, and encourage the public to set up nutri gardens at their own backyard. The food stall was set up by Anganwadi workers led by Project Supervisors of Dimapur (Rural) ICDS as part of Poshan Pakhwada Fortnight awareness programme.
